The Gift of our Gab

This was a editorial piece done for my final year project.

In this day and age with social media holding such importance in everyday life as well as globalisation and commercialisation being on the uprise, the way we speak and communicate has been diluted with other foreign accents and dialects, this is evident in Irish children who consume British and American media.

In my project I revisit and celebrate the way the Irish have modeled and shaped the English language to suit us and what it says about our country. I illustrate its colourful nature, revise its origin and see how it reflects our culture and everyday life.
